SBS U12 Reglement — Season 1 (2026)

01  Purpose & Scope

  1. SBS is a DBV-near U12 series built for development and reps.
  2. Invite-only participation. Final decision by the Commissioner (Chris).
  3. Region guideline: Saarland, Rheinland-Pfalz, Nord Baden, Süd Hessen, Süd NRW, Elsass/Lothringen, Luxembourg (≈2h). Exceptions allowed if the guest agrees.
  4. SBS processes team-level information only and does not manage player rosters.

02  Eligibility (Season 2026)

  1. Eligible players: birth year 2014 and younger.
  2. Players of any nationality are allowed.

03  Season Timeline & Key Dates

Season window:  April–October 2026.

Season start:  2026-04-11.

Regular Season Hard Stop:  2026-09-30.

Final Day:  1st October weekend.

Backup Final Day:  2nd October weekend.

If backup fails:  Champion = Regular Season Seed #1.

04  Competition Format

  1. No groups in Season 1 (2026).
  2. Standard format: Double Headers (DH).
  3. Round format: every team plays every other team with:
    Home DH + Away DH per opponent (4 games per opponent).
  4. With 8 teams: 28 games per team (7 opponents × 4 games).

05  Scheduling Rules (Game Days, Slots, Rescheduling)

  1. Standard slots (binding default): Sat/Sun 11:00 and 13:00.
  2. Deviations are allowed only if the guest agrees.
  3. Rescheduling must be communicated at least 14 days in advance (except weather/emergency).
  4. Each side must propose at least 2 alternative dates when rescheduling.
  5. Postponed games must receive a new date. If no new date is set, then 14 days before 2026-09-30 the game becomes Cancelled / no contest (Commissioner sets this automatically).
  6. Make-up games can be played until season end (within the overall timeline).
  7. If a Cancelled/no contest game cannot be played by season end: it remains no contest (does not count).

06 Ruleset (DBV-near)

  1. SBS follows DBV rules as baseline (incl. pitching rules, mercy rule, equipment & field standards). Exceptions are restrictions or limitations on pitches or the number of field players of a different nationality. 
  2. No protests as a formal process.
  3. On-field disputes are decided by the Crew Chief (final).
  4. Weather/delay/suspension handling: as per DBV.

07 Game Length / Time Cap / Breaks

  1. Standard per game: 2×5 innings (DBV-near).
  2. Additional cap: max 1.5 hours.
  3. At 1.5h cap, the game ends after the completed inning (finish the current inning).
  4. Break between games (DH): 30 minutes fixed.

08 Pre-Game, Punctuality, Forfeit

  1. Check-in: teams must be present 60 minutes before first pitch.
  2. Plate meeting: 10 minutes before first pitch.
  3. Lineups: must be handed to the scorer 10 minutes before plate meeting.
  4. Late arrival is officially determined by the Crew Chief.
  5. Forfeit after 30 minutes (based on the plate meeting reference time).

09 Game Balls

  1. Home club provides game balls (DBV standard).
  2. Minimum per game: 6 new + 6 good used.
  3. Remaining balls stay with the home club.

10  Umpires & Scoring

  1. Umpires are provided by clubs; payment is handled by the providing club internally.
  2. Minimum standard: Umpire D-License (trust basis; proof only if needed).
  3. Target: 2-man system.
  4. Emergency: game may be played with 1 umpire; an additional helper may support on-field (not equal).
  5. For a DH: each club provides 1 umpire + 1 scorer total (across both games), roles rotate.
  6. Crew Chief is always the guest. Assignments/rotation on-site by Crew Chief.

11 Standings & Seeding

  1. Standings are shown as W/L.
  2. Tie-breakers (in order) for seeding/internal separation:
    1. Head-to-Head
    2. Run Differential (true / uncapped)
    3. Runs Allowed
    4. Runs Scored
    5. Coin toss
  3. Forfeit / NoShow count as Win/Loss in standings.
  4. For tie-breaker stats only, Forfeit/NoShow are recorded as 10–0 in favor of the non-fault team.
  5. Culture anchor: “Running up the score is discouraged. When the outcome is clear, prioritize development, rotation, and safe reps.”

12 Final Day (Top-4)

  1. Format: Top-4 → Semis + Final (same day).
  2. Host: Saarlouis Hornets or Seed #1.
  3. Umpires: centrally coordinated (SBS/Commissioner contact).
  4. Scorers: Home + Guest (1 each).
  5. Awards: Champion + Runner-up.
  6. Optional merch: preorder only (no stock).

13 Status List (EN / DE)

  • Scheduled (Angesetzt)
  • Played (Gespielt)
  • Postponed (Verschoben)
  • Cancelled / no contest (Abgesagt / no contest)
  • Suspended (Abgebrochen (Fortsetzung))
  • Forfeit (Wertung)
  • NoShow (Nicht angetreten)

14 Data & Privacy

  1. SBS does not collect children’s names or player rosters.
  2. SBS processes team-level information only.

15 Registration Fee

  1. Registration Fee: €50 per team per season.
  2. Payment details are provided in the Commitment Form confirmation

  3. Slot assignment logic and payment timing are handled via the onboarding process.

16  Roles

  • Commissioner (Chris Becker): invitations, standards, schedule approval, escalation decisions (papertrail-based).
  • Ops Desk (tba): schedule tracking, collecting reports, data maintenance.
  • Umpire Contact (Chris Becker): coordination for Final Day umpire assignments (no central payment flow).

17 Coordination vs Hosting

“SBS is coordination-only. Each hosting club is the event operator for its home game days and is responsible for on-site operations, facility readiness, and local compliance.”

Appendix A — SBS Code of Conduct (Season 2026 / U12)

Prime Directive:
Kids first. Fun first. Baseball development first. Respect the game.


Core Standard:
The well-being and fun of the kids, and the development of baseball, have priority at all times.


Applies to:
Coaches, managers, players, parents/spectators, and club officials.


DO

  • Treat umpires, opponents, and host staff with respect—always.
  • Keep communication short, factual, and calm.
  • Prioritize development, rotation, and safe reps—especially when games are unbalanced.
  • Follow SBS/DBV game-day procedures.

DON’T

  • No abuse (yelling at/insulting/humiliating umpires, kids, coaches, spectators).
  • No threats, intimidation, discrimination, harassment.
  • No entering the field to argue calls (only if invited by the crew).
  • No alcohol or drugs at the field during youth games.
  • No social media “call-outs” about kids, umpires, or incidents.

Parents/Spectators

  • Parents/spectators are responsible for their own behavior.
  • The Crew Chief and/or Host may issue an immediate removal from the venue in case of severe misconduct.

Photo / Video

  • Obey the hosting club’s photo/video policy.
  • No filming kids without permission.
